In Remembrance of Me
I attended a service the week before Easter, where communion was served. I never really paid attention to the text that explains the application process of partaking in the Lord's Supper". I found myself being more ritualistic rather than literal. This piece is meant to show my mental transformation that day.
More specifically in 1 Corinthians 11:23-25 it states, "For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes." And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me." And likewise the cup after they had
eaten, saying. "This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.
When we partake in communion, we shouldn't do it blindly or out of habit; instead, we should utilize the occasion to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice that our Lord and Savior had to pay for salvation on the cross.
